Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is basically calls over the internet. VOIP vastly reduces communication costs by encoding your telephone into Internet Protocol then routing them the same way data is sent.
1. SIP Trunks
A SIP Trunk allows a business to route concurrent calls over the Internet to an IP capable PABX. SIP Trunking is a low cost replacement for traditional telephones lines, using the Internet to make and receive calls.
** I.e SIP lines from $15.00/month **
2. Remote VOIP Telephones
External calls made from remote VOIP phones will use the business trunk lines and bill call charges back to the business. Any VOIP telephones working remotely need to be connected to a high speed internet connection i.e. ADSL.
3. Free Branch to Branch Calls via VOIP
Any branches of an organisation in Christchurch, Auckland, etc can make free internal calls via VOIP technology as long as all the sites have a PABX connected and can access the high speed internet.
- Visibility of other branch extension status
- One touch transfer
- Inter-branch call routing on inbound calls
